Our Story
Patch, Papa & Pup all started one day in the Cribbs Causeway branch of Waterstones when I, Patch, picked up a PubStops map showing all the pubs and bars in Bristol. All 489 of them.

Over the years that followed since that day, my dad, dog and I have made it our mission to visit every pub on the map, giving it a colour-coded rating as to whether we'd go back there again or avoid it in the future. This website now acts to pass on what we've learnt to you, the reader. But bear in mind that this is all our own opinion – we are only here to post our drunken ramblings and hopefully give you some good advice in the process.

Since moving to Bristol in 2016, I've been blown away by the number of pubs and bars that are available across the city. I never realised how big Bristol was and how many pubs it contained – from Redland and Clifton all the way to Emerson's Green and Keynsham. We have now been to nearly all of them, but there is still a long way to go.
So if you're new to Bristol, simply visiting for a few days, or are looking for somewhere new to call your local, check out the hints, tips and recommendations of Kevin – my ale-drinking dad, Patrick – his cider/lager-drinking son, and Daisy – my water-drinking, dog treat-eating goldendoodle.
